Etsy and Walmart: The hottest shopping season schedule in the second half of the year is here

Etsy also released holiday season information for sellers, and both online shopping platforms released lists of key dates related to holiday shopping.

 

One notable event on the Etsy calendar: the Labor Day and September sales, which will take place from August 31 to September 6.

 

Etsy also reminds sellers who may be planning to travel during the holidays to download the Etsy Sell app for iOS or Android so they can efficiently manage their stores from anywhere .

 

In addition to listing the holidays, Etsy breaks down the shopping season into different periods based on last year’s shopping data:

 

Halloween Eve: Traffic starts to rise on August 1 , reaches a peak on October 3 , and gradually decreases on October 31 .

 

Advent Day : Traffic starts to rise on September 15 , reaches a peak on October 15 , and gradually decreases on December 25 .

 

Thanksgiving: Traffic began to climb on September 1, reached a peak on November 4 , and gradually decreased on November 28 .

 

Christmas: Traffic starts to rise on September 1 , reaches a peak on November 28 , and gradually decreases on January 2 .

 

Christmas Sweater Day (UK): Traffic starts to rise on October 1 , peaks on December 5 , and tapers off on December 25 .

 

Hanukkah : Traffic starts to climb on October 10, reaches a peak on November 9 , and gradually decreases on December 10 .

 

Etsy appears to be sending a message to existing sellers , while Walmart is trying to attract new merchants.

 

Not surprisingly , both platforms recommend that sellers create advertising campaigns to attract holiday shoppers.

 

Meanwhile, eBay said it will share new holiday forecasts during its quarterly seller check-in on Thursday (Aug. 4) .
