There are safety hazards! Multiple e-commerce platforms urgently recall children's sleep-aid lamps

Children's products have always been a hot-selling category on major e-commerce platforms, and their safety issues are also a focus of attention for relevant agencies.

Recently, the UK Office of Product Safety and Standards ( OPSS) announced the recall of Lumie Bedbug brand children's sleep-aid lamps sold on multiple shopping websites including Amazon.

It is understood that the recalled children's sleep aid lamps are sold on multiple shopping websites, including Amazon, Lumie.com, John Lewis, Boots, Argos, Bodykind, jojomamanbebe.co.uk, Next and Selfridges.

The recalled product number is 70631020, the serial number is between 2017-1300001 and 2017-1305870 or 2018-1300001 and 2018-1301260, and the model number is BI12T-050150-ADB.

OPSS said that during use, the components inside the power adapter are prone to failure, which can cause the outer shell to be forcibly separated and create a risk of electric shock. If such a failure occurs, it may also cause a fire.

Currently, OPSS has received multiple reports of product accidents, including power adapter failures and electric shock accidents caused by disassembly of the power adapter casing.

To this end, OPSS recommends that consumers stop using the product immediately and contact the platform where it was purchased to return the product.

Recently, a number of children's products sold on overseas e-commerce platforms have been recalled, including playpens, children's pajamas, luminous pillows, shower toys, etc., and the reasons for the recall are all related to product safety issues.

In order to ensure the safety of children, OPSS will be more stringent in supervising such products. Once a safety hazard is found, the product will be recalled and removed from the shelves immediately, and in serious cases, the corresponding legal responsibilities will be pursued.

In recent years, children's products have become very popular in the cross-border e-commerce field, and sellers have begun to seize the market. However, children's products have always had a high entry threshold on major e-commerce platforms, and various safety certifications are essential.

If sellers want to keep their stores running for a long time, they must be careful when selecting products to ensure that the products are safe to use. Because once a product is recalled, it will not only increase costs, but also seriously damage the brand's reputation, affect customer loyalty, and greatly reduce sales.
