The survey shows that these nearly 100,000 third-party sellers come from 73 countries. Among them, 60% (59.5%) are from China. As for the others, Germany ( 11%), the United Kingdom (5.8%), Italy (4.4%), Spain (3.2%), France (2.6%), the Netherlands (2.3%), Poland (1.1%), and the United States (1%). From these data, it can be seen that there are relatively few local sellers in the Netherlands, and the majority of them are from China.
The most popular categories were "Clothing, Shoes and Jewelry" (23%), followed by "Lifestyle and Kitchen Supplies" (11%) and then "Cars and Motorcycles" (10%).
In the Netherlands, in addition to 26% of the gold shopping carts going to Amazon itself, the rest (74%) will go to third-party sellers.
Data Department analyzed 175,000 products and found that:
1. If Amazon and one or more third-party sellers sell the same product, Amazon will win the Gold Shopping Cart for 76% of the products. In the case of winning the Gold Shopping Cart, they will provide the fastest delivery speed. And in 80% of the cases, they will also sell the product at the lowest price;
2. 81 % of the products' gold shopping carts will be placed on Amazon or by third-party sellers using Amazon Logistics (FBA). Combining the first and second points, this means that in these cases, the products ordered by the buyer will be shipped from the Amazon logistics center and either sold by Amazon itself or by third-party sellers who have purchased Amazon Logistics;
3. When third-party sellers win the shopping cart, 56% of them choose to ship through Amazon Logistics.
4. In 76% of the products, the seller with the lowest price (or at least as low as the other sellers) ultimately won the Buy Box;
5. In 84% of products, the seller with the fastest delivery (or at least as fast as other sellers) ultimately won the Gold Buy Box.
Overall, low price and fast delivery are two important factors for winning the gold shopping cart. Amazon Netherlands |
