Today, Amazon UK released a new announcement stating that it will update its customer returns policy for international sales.
Amazon said that from October 5, 2021, the new return policy applies to all most-favored-nation sales partners that sell on European stores ( i.e. Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.de, Amazon.fr, Amazon.es, Amazon.it ) and fulfill customer orders from abroad . Sellers must provide Amazon with a default domestic return address for items equal to or less than £20 / €25 (including VAT), or otherwise provide a non-return refund service for these items .
For example, if you are fulfilling an order received on Amazon.de from outside of Germany and the item is equal to or less than €25 (including VAT), or if you receive an order on Amazon.co.uk and the item is equal to or less than £20 (including VAT), and you are fulfilling orders from outside of the UK, you will need to provide a UK default returns address (or return refund service ).
The default return address provided by the seller to Amazon will be used for all returns within the scope of Amazon's return policy to generate an Amazon prepaid return label (only for APRL registered sellers) or an unpaid address label for the customer . At the same time, customers can use this address for return refund services.
It is worth noting that if the store where the seller sells does not provide a default domestic return address, Amazon will automatically process returns and refunds on behalf of the seller for all in-policy products that meet the above thresholds without returning the products to the seller .
Amazon said that when calculating whether the returned goods meet the threshold, Amazon will consider the seller 's product price (including VAT). Amazon has updated the customer returns for international sales policy and clarified that shipping costs are not considered in calculating the threshold. However, refunds processed for customers will include the product price , VAT paid by the customer, and shipping costs (if applicable). Amazon reminds sellers to carefully review the updated program policies , and a version of tracking changes to international sales customer returns will be available on the program policy changes page .
In addition, Amazon said that if one or more of the European stores where the seller sells does not have a default domestic return address, the seller can contact the international return provider listed on the Service Provider Network page, who may be able to help. For items exceeding the threshold, sellers need to provide a domestic return address, return refund or prepaid return label, and sellers cannot charge customers additional fees for this .
Amazon updated its return policy with the intention of providing customers with a better shopping experience. Unfortunately, the policy is too strict on sellers, and I believe many sellers will cry in the toilet again ... Amazon Seller return the goods |
