Today, eBay released a new announcement in its Seller Center, stating that it will update the management policy for bad account transactions, and the policy section of the Seller Center will be upgraded simultaneously.
eBay said that in order to further improve the overall shopping experience of the platform, it will increase the impact of bad transaction indicators at the account level on traffic distribution. In order to allow sellers to better understand and track the bad transaction performance of their accounts and further simplify the CBT policy, eBay's account bad transaction management policy and the seller center policy section will be updated on December 8, 2021.
It is reported that the specific content of this policy update is: the three policies of "comprehensive performance", "freight performance" and "dispute performance of items not matching descriptions" in the original CBT policy performance section will stop assessment and be offline, and replaced by a new "bad transaction performance" management policy. The new policy evaluation content is as follows:
1. Evaluation indicators : indicators related to bad transactions. Bad transactions mainly include item not received ( INR), return of items not as described (SNAD), stock-out related cancellations (Stock-Out), neutral/negative feedback (NNFB) and low detailed seller ratings (Low DSR).
2. Evaluation transaction window : 60 natural days before the evaluation date .
3. Evaluation method : eBay will review the seller's account's bad transaction related indicators during the evaluation transaction window. If the "bad transaction performance" section shows an abnormal status, eBay may take measures against the seller's account, including but not limited to listing removal, sales restrictions, account freezing, etc.
According to this policy update, eBay also launched a new Seller Center Policy section to display and analyze the bad transaction related indicators of their accounts, including the overall bad transaction rate of the account and the various bad transaction sub-items. In addition, the industry average is provided as a reference so that sellers can make corresponding adjustments based on the industry level.
The bad transaction rate is an important indicator that reflects the seller's comprehensive service level. eBay strongly recommends that sellers pay close attention to it and make targeted adjustments in a timely manner to improve the bad transaction indicators, thereby avoiding account restrictions and achieving traffic growth.
Subsequently, eBay provided a detailed display and explanation of each page of the upgraded policy section.
Status Overview : All bad transaction related indicators and policy evaluations will be displayed in the "Status Overview" column of the "Bad Transaction Performance" policy section

Bad Trade Postings : The “Pending Postings” in the original CBT policy performance section will be integrated into the “Bad Trade Postings” column in the “Bad Trade Performance” policy section. At the same time, this column will also display all bad trades that occurred during the evaluation trading window.
