A quarter of UK consumers plan to increase spending on Black Friday, and the hottest categories are revealed!

Black Friday is just around the corner, and many sellers hope to take advantage of this opportunity to boost sales. Adobe also conducted a survey on local consumer willingness in the UK, with 2,000 people participating in the survey .

The results show that many people no longer believe in the discounts offered by retailers and have become tired before Black Friday. 53 % of consumers do not plan to shop on Black Friday, 61% of respondents are skeptical about the discounts offered by retailers, 39% believe that this year's discounts will be smaller than in previous years, and only about a quarter of consumers said they would still shop on Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

Among them, discounts are the most direct factor affecting consumers' online shopping, followed by product availability and free delivery services. In addition, due to the tight supply chain and the shortage of truck drivers, transportation delays are also a factor considered by many consumers. Nearly half of British consumers are worried about delivery delays this Christmas, and nearly a third of shoppers said they will go to offline stores this year to avoid any problems related to transportation delays.

Although the results of this small sample survey are not very optimistic, some data support still shows the good situation of e-commerce. Adobe recently released the UK Online Economy Index, which showed that British consumers spent 10.4 billion pounds online in October, an increase of 5% over last year. This figure is the highest online spending in October ever, 58% higher than in 2019.

In addition, online spending in the UK has reached 94 billion pounds so far this year , up 12% year-on-year and 55% compared to the same period in 2019. Because the Christmas shopping peak has not yet arrived, researchers expect e-commerce sales in the UK to exceed last year and set a new record.

Another survey result showed that a quarter of consumers intend to increase their spending during Black Friday. Among consumers who plan to participate in Black Friday promotions, 42% said they plan to buy gifts for others and 34% hope to buy snacks for themselves.   Electronics , clothing and beauty products are the most sought-after Black Friday bargains, with consumers mostly choosing to browse and shop online to get the deals.

I hope all sellers can seize the opportunity of Black Friday and achieve good results.
