According to CNBC, Walmart will hold more than 30 live events during the upcoming shopping season to boost online sales. Musicians will also be invited to   Jason Derulo , worked together to host a live broadcast to attract fans to shop.

 

It is reported that users can watch this live broadcast event on Walmart's Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok accounts, and Walmart's official website. In the live broadcast, electronic products, household items, clothing, seasonal decorations and other products will be displayed.

 

Since Walmart held its first live broadcast event in December 2020, it has held about 12 live broadcasts of various sizes so far. Walmart Chief Marketing Officer William White said that live broadcast events will become an important strategic component of Walmart's digital strategy. At the same time, live broadcast events will help strengthen Walmart's brand image and establish a stronger emotional connection with consumers.

 

Moreover, this strategy can also boost e-commerce sales. As the epidemic becomes normalized, more and more consumers return to physical stores to shop, and the growth rate of e-commerce has slowed down significantly, and the growth rate is lower than expected. According to Refinitiv data, Walmart's e-commerce sales in the United States in the third quarter increased by 8% year-on-year, while the expected 20.5%.

 

On the contrary, the live streaming market is in a state of accelerated growth. According to data from Coresight Research, a consumer market research organization, the live streaming market in the United States was worth about $6 billion last year, and it is expected that the market may exceed $25 billion by 2023. Therefore, Walmart has also seized this opportunity to accelerate the pace of live streaming shopping.

 

In order to continuously optimize the online shopping experience for users and speed up the purchase process, Walmart and the media company   Meredith signed a cooperation agreement to do more advertising and content to facilitate consumers' purchases. For example, when users see a recipe on the website, they can add all the ingredients to Walmart's shopping cart with one click, which is convenient and fast.

 

At the same time, Walmart officials also said that they are looking for ways to speed up the checkout experience, such as reducing the number of clicks when people see products they like while browsing social media.

 

Because many consumers will suddenly see products they want to buy while using social media or in their daily lives. Improving and optimizing the shopping process to make their shopping easier and smoother will greatly increase sales and store favorability.
