Product quality and safety issues are increasingly attracting consumers' attention. A good product should not only be practical and beautiful, but also safe to use. In modern family life, people are increasingly pursuing comfort and beauty. Even a small stool may require buyers to carefully select it.
Home stools are a very common product, but they have recently caused safety accidents. On October 27, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recalled a small round stool with a recall code of 22-012. The reason for the recall was the risk of tearing. The CPSC has received six reports of cuts caused by the sharp edges of its metal belt.
It is reported that the number of recalled products is about 7,800, and they are sold on multiple platforms such as Amazon, Wayfair and Hayneedle, with an average selling price between US$60 and US$120.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission's announcement, the product was manufactured in China and imported by Meridian Furniture Inc. in New York. The footstool is made of velvet, with a gold or silver metal band around the bottom, and is about 17 inches high and 14 inches wide. There are a variety of colors, including black, cream, green, gray, navy blue and pink with gold bands; black, gray and navy blue with silver bands.
CPSC reminds consumers to stop using the recalled footstools immediately. If consumers have already purchased the footstools, they can contact Meridian Furniture to return the products or provide photos of the products as evidence of disposal or destruction. The company will compensate the buyers in accordance with regulations.
In October, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recalled 13 problematic products, with fire hazards accounting for the largest proportion of the recall reasons, followed by risks of falling and cutting, etc. The products involved multiple categories such as children's products, electrical appliances, and furniture.
As Christmas is approaching, many sellers are preparing or shipping goods in advance. While sellers are speeding up their sales, they must also pay attention to avoiding risks. They should pay special attention to whether the products are infringing, whether the quality is up to standard, and whether the operations are compliant. USA recall Home |
