According to the Shanghai Market Supervision Bureau, the products involved this time are OXELO brand children's scooters. OXELO is a sports brand under Decathlon, and its products include scooters, roller skates, and protective covers. Dimai (Shanghai) is the manager of Decathlon's Chinese stores and is wholly owned by Decathlon Europe.

These scooters are mainly suitable for children aged 4 to 6 and between 95 and 130 cm in height, totaling 1,828 pieces.

The reason for the recall is that during use, when the steering head tube is repeatedly subjected to large forces, cracks may appear at the adjustment hole and there is a risk of even splitting. If the damaged steering head tube continues to be used, it may not be able to play the original supporting role, thus posing a safety hazard.

To avoid this situation, consumers should stop using it immediately and contact the seller to process a return. The retrieval period is from October 27, 2021 to April 26, 2022, which lasts for half a year.

According to inquiries, on October 18, Decathlon's affiliated company Dimai (Shanghai) Enterprise Management Co., Ltd. had its illegal income of 39,100 yuan confiscated and was fined 59,800 yuan for producing and selling unqualified products as qualified products .

This is not the first time such a thing has happened. There have been precedents of being punished for product quality issues or other non-compliance issues.

Amazon's product review is even stricter, and various recall incidents are emerging one after another. It is reported that in the first three quarters, more than 800 Chinese products were recalled in Europe and the United States . This will not only affect the seller's store, but also affect the reputation of Chinese manufacturing. If serious accidents and injuries are caused, the impact will be even worse.
