Amazon's new announcement! Launching brand recommendation bonuses and changing the subscription fee billing method

Recently, Amazon US released two new announcements.

First, Amazon launched the Brand Referral Bonus Program in the US. The program aims to accelerate sellers’ growth, save costs, and improve the efficiency of non-Amazon marketing efforts, thereby gaining more favor from consumers.

As a member of the Brand Referral Program, sellers can receive an average bonus of 10%, which is determined by the product sales driven by the seller's non-Amazon marketing efforts. The more traffic a seller brings, the more opportunities to receive bonuses. The bonus will be provided through a credit on the seller's referral fee.

At the same time, Amazon emphasizes that consumers can get rewards if they purchase other products within the brand within 14 days after clicking on the ad , which also improves advertising efficiency, and all sellers can join the Amazon Associates program.

Overall, this program helps sellers get a higher return on advertising spending because people trust Amazon more than buying from random online stores. However, some sellers are still worried that Amazon will reduce the bonus ratio or even cancel the bonus in the future.

In addition, Amazon stated that starting from August 1, if sellers have active listings with merged accounts in multiple countries or regions, Amazon will adjust the billing method for professional selling plan subscription fees.

The adjustment rules are as follows:

1. All subscription fees will be billed on the same day of the month, not the monthly anniversary of the seller's registration in each country or region. To facilitate the adjustment of the seller's billing day, if necessary, Amazon will extend your subscription period once and for all without charging additional fees.

2. Subscription fees for sellers in the Americas (United States, Canada, Mexico, and Brazil) will be settled in each country where they have active listings on the settlement date, rather than just in one country. The total billing amount will not increase as a result. If sellers sell on Amazon Europe, they will continue to pay subscription fees in one European country.

Many sellers complained about Amazon's wording and said the announcement was confusing. But one thing is certain: Amazon said that "the seller's total subscription fee will still be limited to no more than $39.99 per month", but some sellers said that the main purpose of this announcement is to charge more fees and taxes in the future based on each country.

The editor here reminds everyone to pay attention to Amazon’s official announcements in a timely manner to avoid missing out on discounts; at the same time, you must also keep up with Amazon’s new policies to avoid unnecessary losses.
