Recently, Amazon announced on its US site that it will launch VAT services for sellers to help them comply with the latest VAT regulations in European countries. Sellers can try it for free for 6 months.

It should be noted that the free EORI service is provided by the tax service provider, who will confirm the subscribed EU country/region to the seller in order to apply for the EU EORI number.

 

Google opens 1 billion traffic to Shopify sellers

 

Independent website giant Shopify has reached a new integration agreement with Google to bring Shopify sellers into Google's "Shopping Journey".


Currently, consumers around the world conduct 1 billion "shopping trips" through Google Search, Maps, Images, Lens and YouTube every day. Last summer, Google announced that independent website sellers can list products on Google Shopping for free. Lazada: Thailand skincare GMV growth rate reached 116% month-on-month

 

Yesterday, Lazada revealed that the GMV of Thai skincare products in summer increased by 116% month-on-month, with refreshing skincare products with whitening and soothing effects as the main force; the GMV of face creams in Indonesia and Vietnam sites increased significantly month-on-month, with the growth rate of Indonesian sites exceeding 68% month-on-month. eBay opens up product main image video API

 

On May 25, eBay announced that it would open the use of the product main image video API. The announcement shows that eBay has now opened the MediaAPI to support video uploads and display videos on iOS and Android apps. The video upload and display functions on PC and mobile web pages will be gradually opened in the future.

 

The announcement reminds sellers that MediaAPI allows users to create and upload videos, which are displayed in the second position of the main picture. It is recommended that the video length does not exceed one minute. This feature is currently only available on eBay US.

 

Shopee Brazil launches Free Shipping Program (FSS) to help sellers gain market share in South America

 

In June 2021, the Brazilian site will launch a free trial period for the Free Shipping Program (FSS), and will officially implement the Free Shipping Program starting in July 2021. Buyers can receive additional free shipping coupons, free shipping subsidies, exclusive free shipping logos, and the cancellation of service fees.

 

This free shipping program will automatically cover all stores in normal operation in June (some newly opened stores may not be covered). The free shipping program in July will be open for sellers to register and withdraw, and the seller operations manager will notify them at that time. (If the sellers who participated in the free shipping program trial in June do not apply to withdraw, they will be defaulted to participate in the free shipping program in July)

 

Amazon's ad revenue is 2.4 times that of Snap, Twitter, Roku, and Pinterest combined

 

According to Loop Capital, Amazon generated $22.4 billion in advertising revenue in the past 12 months, up 65% year-over-year, which is 2.4 times the $9.3 billion in combined revenue of Snap, Twitter, Roku, and Pinterest. In addition, Amazon's advertising business is growing 1.4 times faster than those platforms.

 

In the first quarter of 2020, Amazon's "other business" revenue increased by 77% year-on-year to more than $6.9 billion, mainly driven by the growth of Amazon's advertising business. Amazon also said earlier this month that its advertising-supported streaming video content now has more than 120 million users per month, driven by platforms such as Twitch.
