Clubhouse welcomes another competitor! LinkedIn enters the audio market

Application researcher Alessandro Paluzzi shared the following image on Twitter with the text: LinkedIn is developing audio rooms, the feature is not yet available, only the user interface is available.

As can be seen from the above figure, in the user's personal interface, the user can choose to join or leave the meeting room, respond to comments and request to speak.

LinkedIn later confirmed that it is indeed testing a social audio experience in its app , and shared with TechCrunch a conceptual UX prototype of its own audio room experience that shows an example of what the feature might look like when it launches↓

It can be seen that the LinkedIn Audio Room interface is similar in style to Clubhouse , with a function box for speakers at the top and then a list of those who are discussing below .

According to LinkedIn, LinkedIn is doing some early testing to create unique audio experiences associated with a user 's professional identity . This is also what makes LinkedIn special. The audio experience will be associated with the user's professional identity, which means that professional-based meeting rooms can be aligned with specific market segments, thereby improving connections and building the user 's industry influence.

LinkedIn said it developed the audio-based networking feature because its members and creatives have been looking for more ways to communicate on its platform . LinkedIn does not have an exact timeline for launching the audio networking feature, but said it will begin beta testing soon .

In addition to LinkedIn, streaming music giant Spotify is also advancing related work. Just these two days, Spotify announced that it will acquire Betty Labs, the developer of the live sports audio application Locker Room .

According to Spotify, the acquisition builds on its work creating “ future audio formats ” and will accelerate Spotify’s entry into live audio .

Creators and supporters have been asking for the live format on Spotify, and we’re excited to soon make it available to hundreds of millions of listeners and creators on the platform , said Gustav Söderström , Chief Research and Development Officer .

In the coming months, Spotify will evolve Locker Room to expand it into a broader, enhanced live audio experience. Through this new live experience, Spotify will offer sports, music and cultural programming, as well as a range of interactive features that allow creators to connect with their audiences in real time.

Previously, there was also news that Facebook was developing a pure audio chat room. With major social platforms entering the market, audio social networking may give rise to new development opportunities, and sellers can also pay more attention to it.
