Alibaba International Station implements regular operation of China-US charter flights three times a week

After the epidemic, improving China's international freight capacity and ensuring the stability of the international logistics supply chain have become the focus of national attention. The China-US charter flight took off for the first time during the peak season at the end of last year, helping merchants solve problems such as tight cabin space and skyrocketing offline freight rates during extraordinary times.

Wang Tiantian, head of the cross-border supply chain at Alibaba International Station, said that normalized operations are the first step in the international station's global air transport capacity layout, and in the future, it will also expand routes to countries and regions such as China-Europe and China-Southeast Asia. This year's focus is to build a localized, industry-based, and nationalized fulfillment logistics network.

"The logistics trajectory of the China-US charter flights is visible, and the cost-effectiveness is very high." Zeng Lingxia, general manager of Xiamen Mapleway Import and Export Co., Ltd. , said that customers in the apparel industry have relatively high requirements for timeliness, and customers increasingly prefer frequent and small-batch purchases. This route can not only help small and medium-sized enterprises like them reduce costs, but also increase the platform's transaction rate.

At present, Alibaba International Station’s China-US charter flights can cover more than 200 cities in China for door-to-door collection , and arrive across the United States in 5-9 working days. The successful delivery rate is as high as nearly 99 % , allowing merchants to do global business without leaving home.
