Data shows that in February , the chess category on Twitch had more than 21 million hours of viewing time , setting a new record . In February last year, the viewing time for this category was only 1 million hours .

StreamElements pointed out that after the Netflix chess drama " The Queen's Gambit " premiered in October 2020, the ratings of chess surged, and the popularity remained unabated in the new year, maintaining steady growth.

However, the chess category ranked 17th in terms of viewing time and has not yet cracked the top 10 , according to a StreamElements spokesperson.

In the top ten list of viewing time, Just Chatting , a chat and talent show, ranked first with a viewing time of 235 million hours; League of Legends ranked second with a viewing time of 144 million hours ; followed by Grand Theft Auto 5 , with a viewing time of 135 million hours.

In addition , the ranking of the survival game Rust has plummeted. Its viewing time in February was only 43 million hours, ranking tenth, while it had a viewing time of 189 million hours in January, ranking second.
