Average salary may increase by 7.7%, and Indian people's disposable income is expected to increase

In 2019, average compensation at Indian companies increased by 9.3% , according to Aon , and Indian companies are likely to hike average salaries by 7.7% in 2021 , according to Aon's 25th annual India Salary Survey released on Tuesday .

The survey showed that more than 1,000 of the 1,200 companies surveyed in India are likely to raise wages this year , even though they are in the process of recovering from the pandemic .

The industries with the highest revenue in 2021 will continue to be the ones that maintained the leading position last year, including information technology , information technology-based services , life sciences, e-commerce , and fast-moving consumer goods .

The increase in average salary means an increase in national disposable income. The purchasing power of Indian people is expected to further increase, and accordingly, their consumption level will also increase. For sellers, their products are more likely to achieve sales growth.

Recently, the epidemic situation in India has changed suddenly, with a surge in the number of new coronavirus infections in many places in the country, and the epidemic situation has become severe again. Affected by this, sales in Asia’s largest gold trading market (Mumbai, India) have fallen by 35%. If the epidemic situation in India deteriorates further, other industries will be affected again.

Since the Indian government announced the lifting of the lockdown, India's offline real economy has begun to gradually recover. If the epidemic situation worsens again, offline businesses will be harmed again. On the contrary, India's e-commerce industry is expected to expand again with the second outbreak of the epidemic.

By then, Indian people will return to online shopping again, and stock up on daily necessities and epidemic prevention materials through online platforms. Home leisure products, fast-moving consumer goods, etc. are expected to continue to grow strongly. In 2021, sellers are expected to achieve explosive orders again.

In addition, the success of e-commerce platforms in 2020 has led more offline entities to turn to online platforms, and more competitors have begun to flood into the online market. Therefore, in 2021, cross-border e-commerce sellers will face more intense competition.
