ACAS (Air Cargo Advance Screening) is a joint program developed by the U.S. Customs (CBP) and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to enhance air cargo security. It was officially launched on June 12, 2018.

ACAS requires foreign carriers to transmit information on goods imported into the United States (including transit in the United States) in electronic form to the U.S. CBP (U.S. Customs and Border Protection) ATS (Automated Targeting System) for review before the goods are loaded, in order to identify security threat risks of imported goods.

Required Information

· House Airway bill (AWB) Number;

· The sender of the message;

Shipper’s name and address;

· Name and address of consignee;

· Weight (in pounds or kilograms);

· Number of items;

· Description of the goods (generic descriptions of goods should be avoided).
