Survey data shows that this year, AliExpress has been leading the way in the number of new users in South Korea, with an average of 3.71 million new users per month and 7.07 million active users in November. In the past two years, AliExpress has long been at the top of the Korean shopping app download list, and in October this year, it surpassed the local veteran e-commerce Gmarket to become the third largest e-commerce platform in South Korea. This is the first time that an overseas platform has appeared in the top three e-commerce platforms in South Korea, where local protectionism is extremely strong.

Analysts believe that Chinese shopping mobile apps are rapidly expanding in the Korean market thanks to their price advantages and free delivery services.

This year, AliExpress has increased its investment in emerging markets such as Japan and South Korea, investing more than 100 billion won in marketing, logistics and distribution in South Korea, announcing Ma Dong-seok as its first spokesperson and building a Korean customer service center in the local area. In addition, in order to handle the surge in orders, AliExpress has also upgraded its foreign trade warehouse in Shandong that is specifically for the South Korean market , with a total expansion of more than 30,000 square meters. Currently, Korean consumers only need 3-5 days to receive packages from China.
