What’s going on? The operations manager owes the company 9 million in sales?

Recently, an Amazon operator improperly removed his account, which led to Amazon clearing out the remaining inventory products. Although the clearance payment was compensated, it was only about one-tenth of the product cost.

According to the operator, the inventory that was cleared out was not very valuable, and after deducting the compensation from Amazon, the loss was less than 1,000 yuan. But after the company discovered this, it offered two solutions: one was to use the future commission amount to fill the hole, and the other was to write a self-criticism and read it aloud in front of the whole company.

After careful consideration, the company's general manager believed that reading the review in public might be insulting, so he suggested that the operator choose option 1, which is to use future sales commission to compensate the company's losses.

However, this operator said that he had sales of more than 1 million in one month last year, but was only given a commission of 100 yuan. To fill this hole, he would have to have sales of at least 9 million , and all future commissions would belong to the company.

As soon as this news came out, netizens were immediately furious. One person commented: "Your company's commission standard is unreasonable. The commission for normal operations is generally calculated based on 2%-10% of gross profit. You are working for nothing."

A former employee of the company also came forward to say: "This company is too stingy. Afternoon tea is bought with the money deducted from late employees. The bonus for the new year is only 20 yuan. Fortunately, I ran away early."

In addition, some netizens shared their experiences of losing money to the company in various ways. Someone left a message saying that he had lost more than 300,000 yuan due to the promotion , and finally negotiated to pay the company more than 20,000 yuan.

Among all the cases of operating losses, it seems that promotion duplication is the most common situation, and the amount of loss ranges from a few thousand to tens of thousands of yuan.

In the past few years, the rapid development of the cross-border e-commerce industry has attracted many entrepreneurs who want to get a piece of the pie. This has also led to imperfect systems in many small and medium-sized companies and uneven development within the industry.

In the future, as the industry's internal competition intensifies, some companies will inevitably be eliminated. In addition to having excellent products and operational skills, the surviving companies must also have a sound corporate system.
