Infringement warning! Hundreds of stores frozen, SHEIN appears on the defendant list

Recently, several popular Amazon products have been sued by their original brands for infringement, and many Amazon stores that have listed non-compliant products have been frozen.

Women's clothing products, as the most popular sub-category among fast-moving consumer goods, have always been the focus of many sellers' layout, and a recent infringement case is related to this category.

It is understood that the plaintiff in this case is Ramona LaRue, Inc., whose brand is called Ramona LaRue, which mainly sells women's clothing. The case involves as many as four or five hundred copyrighted images, and as many as 168 stores have been frozen!

After investigation, it was found that Ramona LaRue is a clothing company located in Florida. The company has its own original designers, and many of its design concepts are also ahead of other brands in the industry. Its products are mainly known for their sexy silhouettes and prints, and each style and print is a limited edition.

As a result, almost all of the brand’s product images have been copyrighted. Due to the large number of styles and designs that are in line with current trends and aesthetics, it is easy for sellers to fall into the trap and have their products collide with each other.

Most of the 168 stores on the defendant list are Amazon stores, but there are also a few Walmart and independent website sellers. In addition, a product sold by SHEIN even appeared on the defendant list, but the product has been removed from the shelves.

For sellers of clothing products, original design is undoubtedly the core competitiveness. If you want to go the route of branding and high-quality products, building your own product design team is a necessary step.

In addition to women's clothing, there was also a recent infringement case involving the appearance design of an outdoor kettle.

The plaintiff in this case is CamelBak, and the case number is 23-cv-496. CamelBak mainly sells water bottles, water bags, coolers and other products, and its consumer group is mainly outdoor enthusiasts.

It is understood that CamelBak's kettles have registered design patents. Their kettles have arc-shaped depressions on the upper part of the bottle and also have a thread-like shape design.

Since this design combines practicality and aesthetics, many water bottle products will adopt a similar design. Relevant sellers can also check whether their products have any infringement risks.

If you want your product to go far, compliance is the first step. When operating, sellers must check the compliance issues of the product in advance to avoid problems such as product removal or even store freezing.
