Today ( September 8), Apple’s annual fall conference was held as scheduled. As a super player in the technology industry, this conference attracted much attention and was even called the "Spring Festival Gala" of the technology industry. This time, Apple released six new products including the iPhone 14.
It is reported that Apple reached a cooperation with Amazon in November 2018 and began to sell products on the Amazon platform. The latest data from eMarketer shows that Amazon has 310 million active users worldwide. According to Fan&Fuel research, 94% of online shoppers will read reviews as a reference before deciding whether to buy a product.
Therefore, many sellers want to make a big splash in the review section. For example, it is not uncommon for sellers to buy online sellers to post positive reviews or for competitors to hire people to post negative reviews. In the middle of last year, Amazon also issued a message on the issue of fake reviews, calling on social media to delete fake reviews about products.
In addition, Amazon has also introduced various penalty policies to deal with this chaos. Once verified, sellers with serious circumstances may be subject to Amazon's suspension of sales privileges, removal of products, account closure and other penalties. However, even so, it is still difficult to eliminate the generation of false reviews.
According to the survey results of Electronics Hub using artificial intelligence (AI), there are many fake reviews for smartphones sold on Amazon, among which the iPhone 13 Pro Max has the highest proportion of fake reviews, reaching 70%; the second is Xiaomi Redmi note 10, reaching 63.7%; the third is iPhone 11 Pro, which is 55.0%.
In addition, research data from Electronics Hub shows that among all electronic product reviews on Amazon, smartphones and cameras have the highest proportion of fake reviews. The product with the highest density of fake reviews is the iPhone 13 Pro Max; the brand with the highest overall density of unreliable reviews is Xiaomi; the Nintendo Switch has the highest proportion of fake reviews among all game consoles, about 36.3%; and among cameras, Sony Alpha 7R IV (45.5%) and Canon EOS R6 (45.0%) have the least reliable user reviews.
Fake reviews are not necessarily good or bad reviews. According to an influential study by the American Marketing Association led by MIT Sloan professor Duncan Simester: On the Amazon platform, only 1.5% of buyers write reviews. This 1.5% is completely different from ordinary consumers. They buy more, return more, and are younger and less wealthy.
About 5% of reviews come from people who don’t appear to have purchased the product, and these 5% of reviewers are more likely to have a negative opinion of the product than buyers who have purchased the product. Amazon apple |
