The list reflects the rapid growth in sales of home furnishings, apparel, and alcohol in the United States during the COVID period.
In the home furnishing sector , thanks to people staying at home for a long time and renovating their houses, Harbour Freight Tools topped the list with a 93.4 % growth . David Marcotte, senior vice president of Kantar , said: "People are focusing on investments related to landscaping, small renovations, and repairing things ." In addition to Harbour Freight Tools , RH maintained its position on the list with a year-on-year sales growth of 32.3% . Although the growth of other home improvement retailers has declined, overall, the home furnishing category still maintains a growth momentum. In terms of clothing, with a few exceptions, the rest of the top 10 brands (growing at least 45%) are mostly clothing brands, including Burlington (65.8%) in third place , TJX Companies (parent company of TJ Maxx , 51.3% ) in fifth place , Ross Stores (51%) in sixth place , H&M ( 47.2% ) in ninth place , and Five Below (45.2%) in tenth place. Most of these clothing retailers are discount stores, which have also achieved rapid growth in 2021 as American consumers have become more price sensitive after the reopening of shopping malls and the recovery of clothing and department stores in the United States . Although retail malls continue to be under pressure, the clothing market is gradually recovering. In terms of wine, Wine.com sales increased by 50% in 2021 , and the growth was even more obvious when comparing 2021 with 2019 - Wine.com 's two-year sales increased by 222.7%. In addition to benefiting from people's increased alcohol consumption in response to the pandemic , Marcotte said: "Given the change in the law, people can ship and receive wine. Given this change in the law, the growth of wine retailers will be sustainable."
The rapid growth of the three major categories of home furnishings, clothing, and alcohol not only represents the consumption trend in the United States in 2021, but also these retailers and products with the fastest sales growth can give consumers confidence in 2022-2023 when the US economy is in recession.
