After the epidemic, more and more American consumers have become more health conscious and pay more attention to daily hydration . At the same time, as offline social activities return to normal and Americans begin to return to work and school, the demand for portable water bottles has soared.
According to research data from the NPD Group , American consumers spent $3.3 billion on portable water bottles in the past year, an increase of 20% year-on-year. A total of 315 million portable water bottles were sold in the U.S. market each year.
The growing interest in hydration among U.S. consumers has boosted sales of portable water bottles, which are widely used during both short and long trips.
Data shows that travel mugs account for 13% of the portable water bottle market , while other types of cups, such as blender cups and Mason jars, account for the rest.
At the same time, Americans' increasing environmental awareness has also stimulated consumers' interest in portable water bottles.
According to statistics from the Container Recycling Institute, 86% of the single-use water bottles used by Americans become garbage, resulting in 38 billion single-use water bottles added to US landfills, and an increasing number of college campuses are beginning to ban the use of single-use plastic water bottles.
According to NPD's U.S. Food Trends Research data, U.S. households' purchases of single-serving bottled water have fallen 10% compared to last year.
The environmental benefits of portable water bottles extend beyond reusability to sustainability. Stainless steel, a popular material for portable water bottles, accounts for 48% of total water bottle sales and is 100% recyclable and can be used multiple times. Acrylic portable water bottles also account for 48% of sales and are also recyclable.
Another reason for the continued growth in sales of portable water bottles is that more and more Americans are returning to school, work and other social activities . Among them, the increase in children's outdoor activities has driven the sales of portable water bottles . In the past year, 58% of American families with children have purchased portable water bottles. The purchase volume of this consumer group increased by 5% year-on-year, mainly due to the increase in demand for students to use portable water bottles in school.
In addition, large families are also the main buyers. Data shows that 57% of American consumers have purchased 5 or more portable water bottles, and 54% of this consumer group are families with four people.
Joe Derochowski, home industry consultant at NPD, said that portable water bottles are now the best-selling items. Of course, Americans' increased awareness of hydration and environmental protection are the main driving factors for purchases, but the demand for water bottles after Americans returned to school, work and outdoor activities also drove sales growth.
The current market demand for portable water bottles is very strong, and sellers in the US market can choose related products for layout. US e-commerce market Hot Products |
