eBay fees increased, sellers only have 3 weeks to prepare

Recently, due to the continued increase in shipping costs , eBay has adjusted the fees it charges sellers accordingly. According to foreign media reports, eBay has also increased the final value fees for most categories, and sellers have less than 3 weeks to prepare .

It’s worth noting that eBay’s “final value fees” include fees such as payment processing fees and commissions. Such fees are calculated based on the seller’s total transaction amount , including shipping costs and sales taxes owed by the buyer .

The increase is also part of the 2022 Winter Seller Policy Update . The report also stated that sellers will pay more if their performance is below the "standard" . For eBay sellers who " do not meet the standards" , the fine will increase from 5% to 6% .

The report also stated that eBay is continuing to work to reduce behaviors that do not support a good buyer experience and have a negative impact on the platform . It will also increase additional final value fees for sellers who do not meet the minimum US seller performance standards.

Starting March 1, 2022, eBay will add an additional final value fee to sellers below the standard. This fee does not apply to sellers above the standard and eBay Top Rated.

eBay reminds sellers that they can view their current seller levels on their seller dashboard.

Although the fee increase is not good news for sellers, eBay has taken some other measures to benefit sellers.

eBay says it will prorate final value fee credits based on the portion of refunds sellers provide to buyers. In addition, all final value fees, including the $0.30 fee per order , will be refunded to sellers when they approve a buyer's cancellation request .

Sellers have limited time to prepare for eBay 's new policy changes, so relevant sellers should make preparations in time and not be left behind.

As one of the important cross-border e-commerce platforms for sellers, eBay 's influence and number of sellers have gradually increased in recent years, with revenue of US$2.501 billion in Q3 2021.

At the beginning of this year, eBay also launched related activities such as the commercial and industrial category promotion in the first quarter of 2022.
