Recently, Google launched Qaya, a one-stop SaaS e-commerce platform similar to Shopify.
According to Google, through Qaya, users can create personalized online stores to display their products and services, such as photos, e-books, artworks, photography works, fitness videos, etc. At the same time, Qaya can also import goods and services sold by users on other platforms. It is reported that each store can accommodate up to 1,000 products.
In addition, Google will connect Qaya stores to users' own YouTube accounts, as well as Google Search and Google Shopping pages.
Each store will get its own custom URL in the form of qaya.store/your-name or yourname.channel. Google said that this way, users can place URLs on some social platforms, online stores, podcasts, music platforms, blogs, etc. to divert traffic to their own stores.
In fact, in the Qaya store, in addition to introducing themselves in text, users can also insert imports from other online platforms (such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Spotify, etc.). However, Google emphasizes that the biggest purpose of Qaya is to connect fans with the content sold by creators, rather than just serving as a login page to connect fans with creators' profiles on other services.
The most critical issue is payment. Qaya has built-in Google Pay, so fans can pay for subscriptions, tips and one-time payments. And Google pointed out that Qaya will also provide users with product sales analysis.
Currently, the product is free to use, but it is only available in beta in the United States and is not yet available to users in other countries.
As the e-commerce trend sweeps the world, many e-commerce platforms have sprung up. Not only that, many social platforms, such as Instagram and TikTok, are also laying out e-commerce tracks. Of course, Google, as a world-renowned technology company, has also focused on e-commerce.
In the field of e-commerce, Google has made many attempts. In 2013, Google launched Google Shopping Express, which provided free same-day delivery service. However, this business ultimately failed. In 2018, Google launched the shopping platform Google Shopping.
