The product was recalled and the seller received more than 800 refunds, losing nearly 10,000 pounds!

Recently, when I was browsing the official Amazon forum, I noticed that some sellers said that the products they sold were recalled, which had a great impact on their business activities.

The seller named "WoodenFridge" said that on November 30 this year, he received a product recall notice for 7 ASINs (food) because these products were potentially contaminated during the production process. The production dates of the recalled products were between March 23 and October 23 .

After receiving the recall notice, Amazon removed the links to these products. "WoodenFridge" checked all the inventory he had sold in the past two years by referring to the supplier's date report and found that the production date of the products he sold was not between the above dates, so there was no need for a recall .

Worse still, "WoodenFridge" received about 800 refund emails yesterday , and his current account balance has dropped from 8,000 pounds to negative 1,000 pounds. In addition, he also received an email from a customer who hoped that the seller could compensate her for the indirect losses caused by the recall. However, after checking the product pictures provided by the customer, "WoodenFridge" found that the product purchased by the customer did not meet the recall criteria.

"WoodenFridge" said he was very confused. He sold nearly 5,000 items per month on Amazon UK, but the recall had a great negative impact on his business. He hoped that sellers on the forum could provide some advice to help him get back the £8,000 refund that was wrongly deducted .

While browsing the forum, I noticed that WoodenFridge was not the only one who encountered this problem. The seller Zootoonz said that he received more than 600 refunds for orders within an hour. These orders were all for the same product. After checking, it was found that the product was recalled due to safety issues.

The seller "Store_Trading_UK" also posted that because the products he sold were recalled, his losses exceeded 2,500 pounds!

In short, once a recall occurs on a product, the negative impact on the seller's business activities is very large. Therefore, when selecting products or producing products, sellers must strictly control the quality of the products to prevent potential risks!
