With the popularity of the Internet and mobile applications, as well as the impact of the epidemic, more and more buyers in Peru choose to use online shopping apps to shop. According to data analysis from Linio, the largest e-commerce platform in Latin America, orders from the Linio app account for half of the platform's orders. Linio's application has become one of the most popular shopping apps for people in Lima and Callao.
Linio is currently the largest B2C e-commerce platform in Latin America, with 35 million unique visitors per month. In Latin America, which has a market of 500 million consumers, Linio’s online shopping user share is 60%.
In order to provide consumers with more complete and convenient services, further increase their frequency of using APPs and stimulate consumption, Linio.com also announced that it will hold a two-week "App Days" promotion event to provide Peruvian buyers with thousands of discounted promotional products.
The "App Days" promotion will be held from October 11 to 24, and Linio expects that the download and installation of the Linio APP will peak during the promotion period. From October 25 to October 29, Linio will also launch the "Cyber Wow" promotion, offering thousands of products with discounts of up to 60% and free delivery services nationwide.
Although Peru's e-commerce market is still in its infancy, its growth momentum is unabated. As the largest e-commerce platform in Latin America, Linio has become the first choice for shopping.
Linio statistics show that in Lima, the capital of Peru, 73% of consumers choose Linio for shopping, while in other parts of Peru, 27% of consumers also shop online on Linio ; in terms of the age range of users, more than 40% of buyers are between 25 and 35 years old. Male buyers account for 76%, female buyers account for only 24%, and active buyers account for 82%.
In the past two years, due to the impact of the epidemic, people have spent more time working remotely and having fun at home, which has also boosted the sales of technology products. Linio said that one of the products with the fastest sales growth in 2020 was games and their accessories; and in the first half of 2021, the sales of beauty and fashion products on Linio increased by 70% and 25% respectively compared with the same period last year. The main reasons are category changes, website optimization, and price discounts.
Overall, Peru has a population of about 32 million, with about 24 million Internet users, a penetration rate of 75%. Price and discounts are the main reasons that affect Peruvian consumers' online shopping, with 46% of buyers saying they would choose to shop because of price and discounts, and 43% of buyers would choose online shopping because of convenience.
It is worth noting that Peruvians attach great importance to Mother's Day and other festivals, and usually choose to give gifts to express their feelings. Therefore, in Peru, festivals are likely to provide sellers with opportunities for explosive sales. Peru Online shopping apps |
