Shopify launches ERP program to help merchants simplify e-commerce platform management

Recently, according to foreign media reports, e-commerce company Shopify launched the Shopify Global ERP Program, which allows selected enterprise resource planning (ERP) partners to integrate directly into the Shopify App Store.

Bharati Balakrishnan , Head and Director, Shopify India, said : “Indian e-commerce is poised for more growth as the landscape is rapidly evolving and diversifying. More Indian consumers are also shopping anywhere, anytime, across multiple channels, platforms, and devices, both offline and online. Our partnership with the leading ERP provider will further enable Indian Shopify merchants, retailers, and DTC brands to efficiently scale to reach customers in India and globally.”

In addition, Shopify Vice President Mark Bergen emphasized that with the launch of the global ERP program, Shopify has demonstrated its investment in supporting enterprise merchants. Shopify is pleased to work with Microsoft, Oracle NetSuite, Infor, Acumatica and Bright Pearl to bring commerce and ERP together. Shopify is committed to helping merchants manage complex business operations at scale and helping drive the reshaping of enterprise commerce.

Currently, through the Global ERP Program, merchants can now access a set of certified applications that integrate directly with Shopify, without having to rely on third-party measures to connect their ERP to Shopify. As an extension of the Shopify Plus Certified Application Partner Program, the Global ERP Program will provide partners with support from the Shopify Partner Solutions Engineering team to help merchants build their applications while helping merchants' applications meet high standards of performance and provide a good user experience.

Later, Charles Lamanna, corporate vice president of Microsoft Business Applications and Platforms, said that the integration of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central with Shopify will help more merchants provide an excellent experience to their customers by seamlessly connecting commerce and ERP.

Shopify officials said that by installing applications certified and approved by the global ERP program, merchants can ensure that proprietary data will flow seamlessly and securely directly between their Shopify backend and their ERP without connecting to a third party. In addition, merchants will also be able to save time and money. By integrating directly with certified ERP partners, merchants can avoid the time and money consumed by implementing management customization .
