Holiday shoppers budget up 25%, top five retailers are...

As countries slow down their epidemic prevention and control measures, more and more consumers have begun " revenge shopping " after the epidemic . According to the results of Jones Lang LaSalle's annual holiday survey , more than 70% of shoppers plan to give themselves gifts this year. As consumers go back to work and go out of their homes , demand for clothing and shoes is growing.  

 

At the same time, the amount that American consumers plan to spend during the holiday shopping season this year has also increased by 25.4% compared to the same period last year. The average holiday shopper is expected to spend $870 , compared to only $694 in 2020. This year , consumers' budgets for the holiday shopping season are close to the level before the outbreak.

 

According to JLL's forecast, about 58% of American shoppers plan to shop in physical stores during this year's holiday shopping period, and 73% of consumers will shop at online retailers such as Amazon or eBay. The top five retailers that consumers plan to shop at are Amazon , Walmart , Target , Macy's , and Kohl's.

 

According to statistics, more than half of shoppers will shop on Black Friday and Cyber ​​Monday . But for most shoppers, they will start holiday shopping before Black Friday and Cyber ​​Monday . More than 50% of shoppers said they will start shopping before Thanksgiving, and about 4% of consumers said they will start shopping a week before Christmas .

 

Craig Meyer, president of JLL Americas Industrial, said that although consumers' shopping budgets may return to normal, the supply chain crisis has caused inventory shortages and shipping delays . If consumers want to buy their favorite products , they should start shopping early this holiday shopping season .

 

Although holiday shoppers have increased their shopping budgets this year , saving money is still their primary consideration . Therefore, sellers should pay more attention to this and provide consumers with more cost-effective products. At the same time, sellers should also do a good job of inventory management to avoid product shortages during the holiday peak season.
