Wayfair tightens seller policies and strengthens platform control

Wayfair recently issued an announcement, the general content of which is that the Wayfair platform has discovered that some sellers have violated the platform policies and relevant laws. For this reason, Wayfair will strengthen management and control, reduce the risk of violations faced by the platform, and suspend the recommendation of non-paying sellers .

This policy is not the first "warning" from Wayfair . Wayfair has previously released several major reasons why sellers are blocked, mainly including product packaging size and weight errors , product pricing, delayed delivery, failure to process orders on the same day, failure to ship orders, and sales of prohibited and illegal products .

In terms of product pricing , Wayfair 's operating model is different from Amazon's. The final selling price on the Amazon platform is determined by the seller, while the final selling price on Wayfair is determined by the platform, which will increase the supply price accordingly.

In terms of product information errors, sellers should not overweight or overlength products, and products should not be close to standard values, and a certain amount of space should be left. In addition , Wayfair reminded sellers in the announcement that they must strictly control quality, strengthen advance awareness, and reduce return costs caused by quality problems, insufficient parts of goods, etc. Sellers should pay more attention to the above issues.

Wayfair is not the first platform to propose tightening seller policies. Some time ago, some sellers on major platforms were banned due to illegal operations, small cards and other behaviors, which had a significant impact on the e-commerce industry. Under this circumstance, it is reasonable for major platforms to gradually tighten their seller policies. If there are still sellers who take risks, they can only reap what they sow.

Wayfair is the world's largest home furnishing e-commerce platform in the United States. Its decoration products are very popular and its performance is stable. In the first quarter, Wayfair 's sales reached 3.5 billion US dollars, a year - on -year increase of 49.2%, and its number of active sellers increased by 57% to 32 million. Its business now covers the North American, British and European Union markets, with more than 16,000 suppliers worldwide and 22 million items.

Recently , Wayfair has also updated its page settings. If there are sellers on this platform, please log in to its official website in time to check relevant developments.
