An epidemic has occurred on a cargo ship bound for the western United States, and the original sailing schedule will be delayed!

The container ship is named YM TRAVEL, which belongs to Yang Ming Marine Transport and can carry more than 11,000 TEUs . According to the official announcement, MV YM TRAVEL 001E currently serves the Asia-North America route PS6. The ports of call are Qingdao and Ningbo in China, Busan in South Korea, Los Angeles and Oakland in the United States, followed by Kobe in Japan, and finally back to Qingdao.

During this voyage, one of the crew members of the Fanming ship tested positive for the new coronavirus before it berthed in Busan, South Korea. The ship tracking information showed that the ship arrived at Qingdao Xinqianwan Container Terminal on August 1, arrived at Ningbo Beilun Port on August 5, and sailed to Busan on August 13.

At present, the owner of Fanming Steamship is looking for a solution to this problem. According to the owner's estimate, the earliest date the ship can return to PS6 service and arrive in Busan, South Korea is August 30, and the latest tracking information is expected to be August 28. Shippers and freight forwarders who have loaded goods on this ship are advised to pay close attention to the latest developments of the ship to avoid affecting their subsequent business operations.

Fanminglun was put into operation on the PS6 route between Asia and North America only on July 30 this year. Now, less than a month later, something like this has happened, which can be said to be a bad start.

Recently, there have been reports of global port congestion, soaring shipping rates, and outbreaks on cargo ships at ports, which have caused headaches for many sellers. Apart from being anxious, there seems to be nothing they can do.

Fortunately, good news came today. Ningbo Zhoushan Port Meishan Port Area lifted control measures today.

According to Zhejiang Daily, this morning, Ningbo held a press conference on the prevention and control of the new crown pneumonia epidemic to introduce the latest situation of the overseas epidemic in Ningbo Zhoushan Port. On August 24, the personnel in the closed and controlled areas of Meishan Street completed the last nucleic acid sampling test, and the results were all negative. Today, the control measures in all risk areas of Meishan Street (including the port area) have been lifted.

In addition, the nucleic acid test results of close contacts and secondary close contacts under centralized isolation and control have all been negative, and they have been released from centralized isolation one after another. The last batch of people will be released from isolation today, and all will enter follow-up health observation.
