Recently, Amazon UK issued a new announcement, stating that it will change the prepaid return label function for seller-delivered orders, also known as FBM (Fulfilled by Merchant).
Amazon said that starting August 31, 2021, it will change the prepaid return label exemption process to provide a better user experience for sellers using Amazon's prepaid return label feature. At the same time, Amazon is automating exemptions for multiple categories based on the return policy to reduce the workload of sellers manually requesting these exemptions.
Additionally, Amazon noted that as part of the changes, existing exemptions submitted by sellers will receive feedback from Amazon after being verified to meet the standards.
Currently, returns for the following product categories will automatically be exempted from prepaid return labels and will be sent to the seller for manual review and authorization. At the same time, sellers must respond to all pending return requests within 24 hours.
1. Handmade products 2. Amazon Customized Products 3. Sexual health products 4. Certified pre-owned watch products 5. Professional medical supplies and professional dental supplies 6. Non-physical item products (e.g. warranties, digital software or digital vouchers) 7. Items that cannot be returned according to law and dangerous goods 8.Heavy products and bulky items
Amazon emphasizes that since the exemption application process for prepaid return labels has been simplified, sellers will no longer be able to manually apply for the following reasons.
1. The product cannot pass the shipping standards of Amazon's prepaid return label function, such as dangerous goods. 2. The weight and size standards of the goods exceed the heavy products and large items approved by the carrier . 3. Return and refund: Sellers can still use the return and refund function
But it’s worth emphasizing that sellers can still apply for exemptions for high-value items that require special shipping.
Amazon UK has changed the prepaid return labels for sellers who ship their own goods, and the new policy has caused discussion among sellers as soon as it was announced.
Seller A: We were charged for an unused return label which would not have been charged until the label was used, we were also impacted by an erroneous claim that the item was "not as described" and would like to understand the process regarding a refund.
Seller B: Amazon wants sellers to have less control over their products.
Seller C: Amazon charges sellers for each label, whether they use it or not, it is a fraud!
Although sellers have not yet adapted to the new policy and are dissatisfied with it, the editor would like to remind you to sell items legally and in compliance with regulations to avoid unnecessary losses. Amazon U.K. Seller |
