Cross-border e-commerce ERP is booming, with cumulative financing exceeding 2.5 billion yuan in the first half of the year

Recently, cross-border e-commerce service provider Mabang Software (hereinafter referred to as Mabang) completed a RMB 300 million Series B financing, led by SoftBank Asia and followed by Guangyun Technology. It has been just 5 months since the last financing.

In addition to Mabang, cross-border e-commerce service providers such as Yicang, Lingxing, Dianxiaomi, and Jijia have also received financing of more than 100 million yuan this year . According to statistics , in the first half of this year, cross-border e-commerce ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) has accumulated financing of more than 2.5 billion yuan.

With the continuous release of policy and market dividends, cross-border e-commerce is becoming a hot track for many capitals and enterprises to focus on. In July, a total of 9 platforms and service providers in the cross-border e-commerce field received a total of more than 5.85 billion yuan in financing.

The in-depth layout of capital and enterprises has promoted the sustained and rapid growth of the scale of cross-border e-commerce. The report shows that the scale of China's cross-border e-commerce market was 6.05 trillion yuan in the first half of 2021, and it is expected that the market scale will reach 14.6 trillion yuan in 2021.

So, what exactly is the cross-border e-commerce ERP system that is favored by investors ? How should e-commerce sellers view and use the ERP system?

The main function of the ERP system is to explore how to combine multiple levels such as suppliers, sellers, buyers, logistics, etc.

At the business level, cross-border e-commerce ERP provides platform sellers with solutions and data services for every aspect from store opening, brand expansion, product selection, product launch, logistics, warehouse management, supply chain management, financial services, and sales channel expansion.

For example, in the product selection stage, ERP software provides multiple service modules such as hot-selling recommendations, new product recommendations, hot-selling recommendations, discount recommendations, product monitoring, etc., and provides sellers with category research or product analysis to help sellers find suitable products for sale. In addition, customized ERP is also provided for e-commerce platforms such as Amazon and independent sites such as Shopify.

For cross-border e-commerce sellers, the important idea of using ERP system is eCommerce integration . It refers to combining the front-end e-commerce site with the ERP system . Through proper integration, information will automatically flow in both directions between the two systems, reducing the number of data entry times and simplifying the feedback process .

E-commerce integration is a holistic idea with no clear rules . For example, sellers can use drop shipping software to automatically integrate product descriptions, images, inventory, and prices. This information is then managed in ERP software and automatically adjusted on the e-commerce platform. Even through these automated backend management platforms , sellers can automatically send orders to the best product supplier with inventory and the lowest cost.

Initially, ERP systems were mainly for large sellers. Today, as the proportion of small and medium-sized enterprises in China's cross-border e-commerce market increases, ERP systems have also begun to gradually transform, exploring ERP models suitable for small and medium-sized sellers and providing them with one-stop services. For cross-border e-commerce sellers, whether they are independent sites or platform e-commerce, a suitable ERP system is an indispensable backend guarantee for the enterprise.
