Shopee launches second ASEAN Online Sales Day

Shopee, Southeast Asia’s leading e-commerce platform, has launched its second ASEAN Online Sale Day (AOSD) in partnership with the Ministry of Trade and Industry (DTI) . From August 8 to 10 , consumers can enjoy discounts of up to 75% when purchasing specialty products from ASEAN countries including the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Cambodia, Laos and Indonesia .

 

ASEAN Online Sales Day is an annual event that aims to promote cross-border e-commerce in the region, support small and medium-sized enterprises in ASEAN countries , and strengthen partnerships between stakeholders and businesses. Official stores of leading brands in ASEAN countries, including Krizia Ladies Wear , Go Lokal , Mondial88 Trading Corporation, IRVINS Salted Egg, Chocovron, BLK Cosmetics, Happy Skin, Jersey Milk and the Globe , will participate in the event .

 

Marievic M. Bonoan, Director General of the Domestic Trade Development Agency of the Ministry of Trade and Industry of ASEAN , said: "DTI looks forward to working with Shopee again for ASEAN online sales, and we appreciate their strong support to ASEAN countries in promoting cross-border trade . Shopee provides a large platform for ASEAN countries to promote their products and services . At the same time, it also helps ASEAN trading countries establish a good online sales image, further promoting the maximization of online sales profits in ASEAN countries . We will continue to work with organizations such as Shopee to drive economic recovery through e-commerce."

 

Since the outbreak, the world's e-commerce landscape has continued to expand , and e-commerce has also had a significant impact on consumers' lives . It is estimated that about 2.14 billion people will buy goods and services online this year . At the same time, brands and individuals have begun to embrace digitalization and continue to innovate and integrate to maintain economic recovery and progress. It is expected that the global e-commerce market trade volume will increase by US$5.4 trillion by 2022. In the current global situation, online platforms like Shopee are gradually becoming the new mainstream , and activities such as ASEAN Online Sales Day are also making online shopping easier and having a more beneficial impact on social development .
