Recently, Smartme Analytics, an authoritative data analysis company, released an analysis report on Spanish shopping apps in the first quarter of 2021. The report shows that AliExpress, a cross-border retail e-commerce platform under Alibaba, has surpassed Amazon with 62.5% of downloads, becoming the most popular shopping app in Spain. At the same time, AliExpress is also the app with the largest increase in downloads, with a year-on-year increase of 7.8 % .

The latest statistics from mobile data analysis platform AppAnnie also show that the download volume of AliExpress APP in the Spanish and French markets ranks first among shopping apps. AliExpress ranks second in MAU (monthly active users) in Spain , and the gap with the first place Amazon is gradually narrowing. In France, MAU surpassed Wish in February 2021 and rose to second place.

 

Founded in 2010, Alibaba AliExpress is China's largest cross-border retail e-commerce platform. It currently has sites in 18 languages, covering more than 200 countries and regions around the world .

 

In the last fiscal year, AliExpress grew rapidly in developed Western European markets. Platform data showed that GMV and order volume in Spain and France both grew by triple digits year-on-year, with fashion, home furnishings, sports, and maternity and baby products doubling in growth; in the French market, the growth rate of fashion and maternity and baby products exceeded 150 % .

 

The rapid development of AliExpress in the Western European market is due to the fact that more and more local consumers have begun shopping online during the epidemic, further increasing their recognition of high-quality and low-priced Chinese products. It is also due to AliExpress's infrastructure construction and localized operation strategy.

In the previous fiscal year, AliExpress greatly improved the logistics experience in the Spanish and French markets by increasing the frequency of charter flights, upgrading the overseas warehouse + local distribution network, and deploying self-pickup cabinets and self-pickup points. The fulfillment rate and coverage of 3-7 day delivery from overseas warehouses and 10-day delivery for cross-border delivery continued to expand. As the consumer experience improved, the repurchase rate steadily increased.

In Spain, AliExpress cooperated with the La Liga powerhouse Sevilla FC and co-created content with the local popular TV show The Masked Singer; in France, AliExpress' Paris pop-up store attracted more than 3,000 people to queue in the rain; and the cooperation with the top French Ligue 1 team Lyon has reached more than 30 million French people.
