As insurance demand surges, Indonesia's Bukalapak platform expands its product range!

It is reported that Indonesian e-commerce platform Bukalapak cooperates with a number of Indonesian insurance companies (including Cermati Protect and Igloo Mobile insurance) to provide various insurance products, such as health insurance , motor vehicle insurance , travel insurance , bicycle insurance , transportation insurance , commodity insurance , food and medical product insurance , beauty care insurance , etc.

In addition, there is fire insurance, personal accident insurance and mobile phone screen insurance .

Victor Lesmana, President of BukaFinancial & Digital Bukalapak, said : “ The pandemic has increased people’s attention to insurance , with life insurance premiums increasing by as much as 20% per month since October 2020. This trend has further increased our opportunities to collaborate with insurance companies on new insurance products, so that everyone can purchase insurance products at the right price and receive maximum protection. ”

Victor Lesmana added that with the increasing demand for online shopping during the pandemic , Bukalapak has enabled more people to have a comfortable and safe shopping experience through the various insurances provided on the platform .

Bukalapak's health insurance also includes hospitalization medical insurance, with costs starting from approximately IDR 236,250 per year and a maximum coverage of IDR 9 million.

Motor insurance is varied and affordable, with premiums starting from Rs 30,000, and users can enjoy protection of up to Rs 80 lakh for their favorite motorcycles. Meanwhile, car insurance offers protection worth up to Rs 20 lakh, and for bike enthusiasts, Bukalapak's bike insurance totals up to Rs 61 lakh.

To dispel consumers' concerns about purchasing products , Bukalapak has also launched transportation insurance. If the goods are lost or damaged during transportation , users can receive compensation of up to 100 million rupiah; if consumers are unwell or allergic to the purchased food, medical products and beauty care products, the insurance will pay three times the product price as compensation.

Not only that , Bukalapak also provides fire insurance with a monthly premium starting from IDR 250 and a maximum coverage of IDR 45 million; personal accident insurance with a premium starting from IDR 20 every 14 days and a maximum coverage of IDR 18 million; travel insurance with a premium starting from IDR 6,500 and a maximum coverage of IDR 265 million.
