TryNow raises $12 million to provide Shopify brands with a “try before you buy” service

According to businesswire.com, TryNow , a software platform that provides customers with a try-before-you-buy service, recently completed a $12 million Series A financing round . Major investors include Shine Capital, Craft Ventures, SciFi VC, Third Kind and Plaid.

TryNow's try-before-you-buy service brings the dressing room into the consumer's bedroom, allowing consumers to try out products before ordering them, and then make purchasing decisions based on the trial experience. Unsatisfactory products can be returned free of charge.

TryNow’s service helped brands increase their average order value by 63%, conversion rate by 22%, and return on advertising spend by 76% .

Fast-growing Shopify Plus brands like Universal Standard, Roolee, Western Rise, and Solid & Striped have already experimented with TryNow to offer customers a try-before-you-buy experience.

It is worth mentioning that TryNow's service can be seamlessly integrated with Shopify's backend return management system and accounting system . In addition, TryNow can also provide brands with technical support for launching a try-before-you-buy program.

Polina Veksler, CEO of Universal Standard, the brand that has reached a business cooperation with TryNow, gave TryNow a high evaluation, saying: " TryNow has become a major driver of our business growth and profitability , and we are very happy to have it as a strategic partner. "

TryNow was founded based on its founder’s insight into consumers’ pain points. Platforms such as Shopify allow sellers to easily build online stores, but they deprive consumers of the ability to touch, feel, try, and discuss products. After all, a browser window can never perfectly replace the shopping experience of customers visiting stores in person.

“One of the biggest barriers to e-commerce growth is the inability to try before you buy,” said Benjamin Davis, founder and CEO of TryNow. This is why online shopping conversion rates are so low, so removing uncertainty before consumers buy can help brands unlock the power of physical stores for consumers, allowing the trial process to be completed in the customer’s own home.

In addition, Mo Koyfman, founder and managing partner of Shine Capital , commented that TryNow's service can help online brands narrow the conversion rate gap with physical retail.

In fact, e-commerce giant Amazon has already solved this problem by building internal try-before-you-buy programs through Prime Wardrobe , Stitch Fix, and Warby Parker , so from this perspective, TryNow provides Shopify Plus brands with Amazon-level infrastructure, which will help Shopify brands win in the fierce market competition.
