Founded in 2016, gafell prepares food in Hong Kong kitchens for sophisticated eaters. The brand name is a play on the Swedish word fork Gaffel.

About Gafell

• The kitchen was built in 2017 in an industrial building in Kwai Chung, a historic commercial and production district a stone’s throw from Hong Kong’s busy container port. These days, there isn’t much production in the area anymore, as factories have moved to China, and traders then ship goods back and forth from the port to warehouses in the industrial complex.
• When opening the kitchen, I imagined a place where I could spend my time cooking delicious dishes without waiting outside at a restaurant with an empty stomach. I'm happy to say that it succeeded. Making frozen meals allows Gafell to focus on the dish in front of him, knowing that the freezer will take care of preserving all the flavor and nutrients in the food. This stress-free, no-rush kitchen takes care of the ingredients and then cooks them to perfection.
