Founded in June 2003, the company is a joint venture between Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao and China, jointly invested by China Merchants Port Holdings Co., Ltd., Ningbo Zhoushan Port Co., Ltd. and CITIC Port Investment Co., Ltd. The three shareholders hold 45%, 35% and 20% of the shares respectively.
