In 2019, fashion startup Le Tote Inc. bought the company's stores, brands and e-commerce site from Hudson Bay for $71 million.

On August 3, 2020, Lord & Taylor, the oldest luxury department store in the United States, filed for bankruptcy protection, joining a series of retailers that have gone bankrupt due to the epidemic.
