What is Lord & Taylor? Lord & Taylor Review, Features

Lord & Taylor is one of the oldest luxury department store chains in the United States.

About Lord & Taylor

Founded in 1826 and headquartered in Manhattan, New York City, its business is mainly concentrated in the eastern United States. It is now a subsidiary of NRDC Equity Partners, a subsidiary of Hudson's Bay Company.

In 2019, fashion startup Le Tote Inc. bought the company's stores, brands and e-commerce site from Hudson Bay for $71 million.

On August 3, 2020, Lord & Taylor, the oldest luxury department store in the United States, filed for bankruptcy protection, joining a series of retailers that have gone bankrupt due to the epidemic. Due to the impact of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, the company was forced to temporarily close all 38 stores in the United States.
