The recall statement states that children using the toy in a bathtub or sink could slip, fall or sit on the toy's pointy, hard plastic top fins, posing a health risk to children.

According to a statement released by Zuru, there have been 12 reports of children being injured by the toy, nine of which required stitches or medical attention.

In terms of product appearance, this toy looks like a small shark and comes in three colors - yellow, blue and pink. When placed in water, the toy will swim by itself and make singing sounds.

According to the product information released by Zuru, the product is divided into normal size and mini version. The normal size is about 18 cm long and the mini version is about 12 cm. It is usually sold in packages of one or three.

After searching, it was found that the product was previously mainly sold in the United States and Australia, but Australia has not yet removed the product from the shelves or recalled it.

It is understood that the owners of Zuru are two brothers named Nick from New Zealand. Both brothers did not finish college and moved to China to pursue their careers after dropping out of school. It can be said that Zuru is a toy brand born in China, but it cannot be considered a domestic toy brand.

Industry insiders said that this batch of toys should have been processed by a factory in Dongguan. It is not known whether Zuru will contact the factory to negotiate and share the losses after such a large number of products are recalled.
