Cainiao CEO Wan Lin: Tmall Double 11 green return boxes are expected to reach 6 million, and the half-way return box volume is close to last year's full-way return box volume

Tmall Double 11 green participation volume hit a new high.

 

This afternoon ( November 11 ) , Cainiao CEO Wan Lin said that the number of return boxes halfway through this year's Double 11 logistics operation is close to that of last year's entire operation . The number of green return boxes for the entire Double 11 logistics cycle will reach 6 million, a 50% increase over last year .

 

It is reported that as of November 11 this year, the logistics of Double 11 has passed the halfway point, and consumers have returned nearly 4 million green boxes during Tmall Double 11. In comparison, the number of boxes returned during the entire logistics cycle of Double 11 from November 1 to 20 last year was 4 million.


 

 

The reason behind the record number of green return boxes is that this Double 11 has become the Double 11 with the highest green participation. 130,000 Cainiao stations across the country have started green recycling, and the "express packaging recycling for eggs" has been fully rolled out, making it convenient and happy for consumers to recycle. In addition to the increase in return boxes, the number of green shipments has also increased. During the Double 11 period , more than 100,000 people used old express packaging to send parcels every day.

 

According to the popularity of return boxes and green delivery at Cainiao Post Station, Chengdu, Shenzhen, Xi'an and Guangzhou form the "first-tier cities for logistics carbon reduction". College students are generally more enthusiastic about green environmental protection than "working people". Among the participants, the average number of return boxes for college students reached 3, while the average number of return boxes for "working people" was 2.

 

This year , more merchants participated in reducing carbon emissions in logistics. Cainiao joined forces with thousands of merchants to launch the "50g Carbon Reduction Campaign" for each package on Double 11 with 150,000 products. Brands such as Yili and Unilever also participated in the campaign to jointly achieve a green supply chain .

 

Wan Lin said that it is expected that with the joint participation of consumers, merchants, express delivery practitioners and other parties, more than 2 billion green behaviors will be generated in all links of Cainiao Logistics during the entire Double 11 period.
