Another children's toy sold on Amazon has been recalled due to choking hazard

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission ( CPSC) has announced a recall of a children's toy sold on Amazon: the Early Learning Center Little Senses Lights & Sound Shape Sorter, because a part inside it poses a choking hazard to small children.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said the toy is marketed for children aged 6 to 36 months and that approximately 9,300 units had been sold on Amazon from October 2020 to August 2022 , all of which were recalled.

The toy 's base is white and gray , with the "Little Sensory" logo printed on the side of the base . There are six colored shaped parts with lights on the top. When triggered, these parts will light up the sensor lights and play music . The product code of the recalled toy is 82756. It and the batch number of the product are both located on the base of the host , corresponding to the manufacturing date .

The recall was initiated this time because the red cube on the toy may separate or fall off during use . If the cube breaks, the small white ball inside will fall out . If a child swallows it by mistake, it may cause a choking hazard. Fortunately, no such tragedy has occurred so far.

The CPSC recall report points out that the red cube is the only potential hazard of the toy , and it can be used safely without the red cube. Therefore, after removing the red cube, you can give it to your child to play with, but to avoid accidents, parents should keep their children away from it. In addition to children's toys, parents should note that the CPSC is also recalling a travel jogging stroller because its brakes may malfunction, causing children to fall or get injured.
