According to CCTV reports, due to the epidemic silence implemented in Yiwu in August, which led to the suspension of work and production of enterprises, Yiwu is currently working overtime to rush orders for Christmas supplies from all over the world.

As the world's largest distribution center for Christmas products , Yiwu controls two-thirds of the world's Christmas products, such as Christmas trees, Santa hats, greeting cards, ribbons and decorative lights.

According to incomplete statistics, there are currently more than 800 stores in Yiwu International Trade City selling Christmas products. Affected by factors such as this year's epidemic, inflation, supply chain, and overseas port strikes, the market fluctuated greatly. Therefore, compared with previous years, the peak period for purchasing Christmas products in Yiwu this year has arrived earlier.

Data shows that from January to July this year, Yiwu's exports of Christmas products reached 1.75 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 88.5%; among them, the export volume in July was 850 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 85.6% and a month-on-month increase of 75.8%.

In fact, March to November every year is the peak season for purchasing Christmas products in Yiwu . After the products are made in June to August , they start to be shipped in early September and are sold all over the world after December .

In August, in order to control the sudden outbreak, Yiwu implemented silent management for nearly a week, with factories shut down and logistics suspended. For sellers, every extra day of suspension means one more day of loss, and there are many uncertainties in sea transportation, so the losses may be more than that.

Domestic supply chains are blocked, foreign consumers are facing an economic crisis, and their purchasing power is declining.

In the UK, many industry experts recommend that consumers should buy Christmas supplies in advance because the UK's inflation level is still high and is expected to continue to rise. Moreover, during the peak sales season, although there will be promotions, the final purchase cost may be higher than it is now.

Previous surveys have shown that British people plan to halve their Christmas spending this year , nearly 30% of British people have started buying before the holiday, and 80% of British people said they plan to look for bargains on Black Friday .
