Pinterest and Shopify launch new features: more convenient checkout

According to foreign media reports, Pinterest has teamed up with Shopify to launch a hosted checkout model, which allows consumers to save several steps and make the checkout process more convenient.

This new checkout mode was jointly launched by Pinterest and Shopify to optimize the consumer shopping experience. By removing the cumbersome steps in the original checkout process, both consumers and sellers on the Pinterest platform can get a better experience.

Generally speaking, if a consumer wants to buy a product on Pinterest, there are several steps before the order is completed. The consumer needs to log in to the Pinterest platform first, then go to the merchant's page, add the product to the shopping cart, select the logistics and payment method, and finally complete the order.

The hosted checkout model eliminates many complicated steps, and consumers can now browse, click, and purchase in one go.

After testing, it was found that consumers who use the managed checkout model have a stronger desire to consume than those who do not use this feature. Data shows that users who use this feature have a 3.9% higher purchase tendency than ordinary users.

This feature also has many benefits for sellers. Sellers' products can get more exposure through the new mechanism and appear on Pinterest's homepage, search page, and shopping page. With greater exposure, sellers have the opportunity to get more conversions.

By using this feature, sellers can attract a large number of new customers for their brands. In addition, sellers can also view all order and consumer information, and manage order status updates and customer service functions with one click.

In this way, merchants will have more initiative in managing customer relationships.

Currently, the hosted checkout model is only available to some merchants in the United States. Merchants need to participate in Pinterest's certified merchant program and use Shopify stores to sell.

Eligible merchants will see the hosted checkout setup at the top of the Shopping settings in the Shopify app.
