Due to the typhoon, cargo transportation at many ports and airports in Guangdong has been suspended!

August of each year is the most active typhoon period of the year in China's coastal areas. Many areas often experience power outages, water shortages, communication interruptions, road blockages, port suspensions, flight delays, etc. due to the arrival of strong typhoons. These will affect freight transportation, causing manufacturers to delay delivery and suffer varying degrees of economic losses.

At around 20:00 yesterday , this year's No. 9 typhoon "Ma'an" strengthened to typhoon level and will make landfall in the coastal area from Taishan to Wuchuan in Guangdong in the morning or morning of the 25th.

Easy Logistics Yantian notified that the YICT gate service had stopped operating at 23:59 on August 23, and the resumption time has not yet been announced; Shekou Container Terminal and Chiwan Container Terminal also issued announcements stating that the SCT, CCT, and MCT terminal gates stopped all container delivery services at 00:00 on August 24, and the resumption time has not yet been announced.

In addition to ports, air transport was also affected by the typhoon. Shenzhen Airport issued a notice stating that all inbound and outbound flights at Shenzhen Airport would be suspended from 3:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on August 25 .

The suspension of airports and ports has a direct impact on the operation of cross-border logistics. A freight forwarder reported that due to the typhoon, COSCO SPAIN/052E was originally scheduled to depart from Yantian on August 24, but has now been delayed to August 27. Another freight forwarder also issued a notice that due to the typhoon, it was no longer possible to load or return containers by sea from August 24, and large ships could not dock or leave, and all shipping schedules were affected. However, a freight forwarder said that although the containers could not be returned and the ship could not sail, the express delivery goods could still be loaded, sealed and released as usual yesterday.

Sellers have encountered many difficulties in logistics recently. Yiwu was just unblocked when the typhoon came again. Some sellers said that for cross-border e-commerce, they are not afraid of knives from the sky, but they are very annoyed when they cannot ship goods.

As ports, airports and other areas have stopped operating, shippers and freight forwarders who have shipping arrangements in the near future should pay close attention to port and airport information, and make reasonable arrangements for the return of containers and cargo to reduce losses.
