South China Morning Post: Chinese cross-border sellers in Southeast Asian markets are flocking to Alibaba International Station

The aftermath of Indonesia’s new e-commerce regulations continues.

Recently, the well-known media "South China Morning Post" reported that due to Indonesia's new e-commerce regulations restricting cross-border e-commerce on the social media TikTok, Chinese cross-border sellers in the Southeast Asian market are flocking to the B2B digital foreign trade platform Alibaba International Station.

It is reported that after TikTok shut down its e-commerce business in Indonesia, Alibaba International Station launched the "S Plan" to help affected Chinese cross-border sellers. Through "traffic, operation and logistics support", it helps sellers quickly transform into B2B exports, resume operations as soon as possible and minimize losses.

In the view of the South China Morning Post, Southeast Asia remains a growing and lucrative market. However, as the largest e-commerce market in Southeast Asia, Indonesia's new e-commerce regulations and the subsequent imitation of multiple countries are bringing huge uncertainty to the market.

This round of support measures from Alibaba International Station will provide a "safe haven" for Chinese cross-border sellers who still want to do business in the Southeast Asian market. They can make up for business losses through B2B, the most basic form of trade between countries. In fact, while Indonesia is restricting cross-border e-commerce on social media, the entire Southeast Asia, including Indonesia, is rapidly becoming China's largest B2B trading partner.

Many cross-border sellers also said that quickly transforming to the B2B track through Alibaba International Station’s full-link foreign trade services is an important means to deal with this round of turmoil.

They believe that the B2B export model itself is simpler than B2C, and the assistance measures provided by Alibaba International Station are also very targeted. It is reported that Alibaba International Station provides sellers with a " one-click store opening" service, including translation and smart product delivery tools, so that sellers can quickly open new stores and migrate businesses on Alibaba International Station.

For newly opened stores, Alibaba International Station promises to provide three to six months of traffic support to enable them to have more exposure to potential buyers. In particular, Alibaba International Station will provide each merchant with a tailor-made export plan, allowing them to better target the Southeast Asian market.
