A new round of strikes at the Royal Mail is coming

It is reported that the Royal Mail will start a new round of strikes next Friday, and sellers need to prepare for the possible impact in advance. In order to further escalate the chaos, the British Communications Union also called on the British Post to join the strike.

Royal Mail strike timetable:

Friday 26 August - Royal Mail 24-hour strike.

Friday 26 August - 24-hour post office strike.

Saturday 27 August - Royal Mail strike.

Monday 29 August - Bank Holiday.

Tuesday 30 August - Post Office supply chain and administration strike.

Wednesday, August 31 - 24-hour strike.

Thursday 8 September - 24-hour strike.

Friday 9 September - 24 hour strike.

The series of strikes, which take place around the August bank holiday, will cause further delays to e-commerce deliveries. The strikes, which began on Friday, mean that goods shipped by sellers on Thursday may sit in Royal Mail's distribution centre for several days without being sorted or delivered.

If you normally use the post office to ship your goods, you will find that they are also on strike. All privately operated post offices will see a surge in volumes as employees of other official post offices are on strike in protest. All post offices across the country will be affected when supply chain and administrative staff go on strike on Tuesday the 30th.

It is understood that some sellers have considered shutting down their businesses during the strike. They are mainly worried that Amazon will not show mercy due to this special situation.

In similar incidents that have occurred before, Amazon's solution was to recommend that sellers use DPD's postal service. Although this can solve the problem, the cost is much higher.

And there is another problem. If a large number of sellers use DPD, they may not be able to bear such a large shipping volume.

Worse still, more strike activity is expected this autumn - with Royal Mail's summer strikes largely aimed at helping staff secure higher pay.

But they still have other demands besides pay. The Communications Union is also fighting for better working conditions and working terms.

This means that unions will still call for more strikes after the summer strike wave ends.
