Sales volume reached 56,200 pieces! A product on Amazon was urgently removed from the shelves

Recently, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission ( CPSC) and retailer Demdaco jointly recalled a microwave bowl rack sold on shopping websites such as Amazon and Target , and removed it from these platforms because the product would burn during use, posing a fire hazard.

It is understood that the recalled products are Demdaco brand microwave bowl racks, which are made of cotton and linen fabric. The size of the small bowl rack is 6.5*6.5 inches, and the size of the large bowl rack is 8*8 inches. DEMDACO is printed on the label on the side of the bowl rack.

These microwave bowl racks were sold on Amazon.com , Demdaco.com, Target.com and Zulily.com online shopping websites, as well as gift shops, hardware stores, florists and drug stores across the United States from June 2020 to March 2022. The price was about $23, and a total of approximately 56,200 units were sold . The product has now been removed from the Amazon platform.

The CPSC said it has received three reports of scorching fires involving the product.

To this end, CPSC recommends that consumers stop using the product immediately and contact Demdaco to return the dish rack for a full, free refund.

Some time ago, CPSC recalled 772,000 air fryer products that were hot-selling on multiple platforms including Best Buy, eBay, and Google .

The recall is due to the risk of fire and burns as these products can overheat during use.

It is worth mentioning that the safety problems caused by this product are very serious. The relevant departments have received more than 100 reports about the air fryer products catching fire, burning or melting , posing a hidden danger to the personal safety of consumers .
