Wish launches video shopping feature

According to foreign media reports, Wish is launching a new feature called "Wish Clips" to enhance customer experience and simplify the purchasing process.

It is understood that the Wish Clips feature allows users to get more information about the product and imagine how to use or wear it.

With just one tap, consumers can view product details, enter the seller's store , or add a product to their shopping cart. Customers can also "like" videos they like . Wish Clips is available to Android device users in nine major markets and will begin to roll out to iOS device users in April 2022.

Sellers participating in the Wish Clips program are able to create and upload 5 to 30 second clip videos to showcase their products. Sellers can get performance metrics through Wish's seller dashboard . The dashboard will be updated over time and show other metrics, such as customer likes and viewing time.

The launch of Wish Clips is part of Wish's efforts to enhance its platform user experience and provide sellers with more tools to showcase their products . It is also part of a series of new products and features that Wish plans to launch in 2022.

“We are deepening our investment in new products and user-centric features to bring new elemental features to life, ” said Tarun Jain, Chief Product Officer of Wish. “For users, Wish Clips can help them better select products and enjoy a more immersive and interactive experience. For merchants, Wish Clips provides a great opportunity to showcase their brand personality and style.”

“We’ve built a one-of-a-kind shoppable video player that captures commerce inspiration like never before,” said Jain. “So far, the response from our users and merchants has been fantastic. We look forward to rolling out Wish Clips to our entire user base soon.”

In addition to Wish, many e-commerce platforms and social platforms have also launched similar features . A recent example is the social platform Pinterest, which is experimenting with a feature called "paid collaborative creative ads," a new form of advertising that allows advertisers to promote creative short videos with shopping links through creators .
