Outrageous! A pilot at the port was diagnosed with the virus and had contact with 40 ships

The global epidemic has lasted for two years. Although the vast majority of Chinese people have been vaccinated with the new crown vaccine, the epidemic situation varies in different countries and regions around the world, and recurring epidemics are still continuing in some areas. Therefore, it is still very important to do a good job in epidemic prevention.

Especially those working in the shipping industry should pay more attention to the epidemic and take effective epidemic prevention measures.

It is understood that on February 6, a pilot at Kaohsiung Port in Taiwan was diagnosed with the new coronavirus, and before the diagnosis, the patient had contact with more than 40 merchant ships ! It is reported that in late January before the pilot was diagnosed , he was listed as a high-risk target by the local epidemic prevention department, and according to regulations, nucleic acid should be tested every 3 days;

However, the pilot ignored the epidemic prevention regulations and did not comply with the epidemic prevention requirements after the nucleic acid test result was negative on January 23. He took two fewer tests than required . Then he began to have symptoms such as runny nose and sputum on February 4, and was diagnosed as positive after seeing a doctor on February 5 .

It is understood that although the pilot has been fully vaccinated with three doses of vaccine, he had frequent contact with 40 domestic and foreign merchant ships, and most of these ships have already gone to sea. The subsequent epidemic work will be taken over by the Maritime and Port Administration for investigation.

In addition, the patient's confirmed diagnosis also resulted in 174 people who were in contact being included in the quarantine or health management list . This incident also angered local residents and the mayor of Kaohsiung. The mayor reiterated at the epidemic prevention press conference that those who have received the testing notice, especially those working in port areas, shipyards, and ship repair yards, must go for the test on schedule. If they fail to go for the test on schedule after receiving the notice, they will violate the Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Act and be fined NT$60,000 to NT$300,000.

The situation of shipping affected by the confirmed diagnosis of the pilot at Kaohsiung Port is still under investigation. Relevant sellers and freight forwarders can pay attention to subsequent progress. The editor also reminds relevant staff that the global epidemic is not over yet, and the epidemic situation in some countries and regions is still severe . Shipping delays and port congestion caused by the epidemic occur from time to time , so epidemic prevention work cannot be ignored!
